Neurofeedback is the most effective, non-invasive and drug-free way of dealing with attention deficit disorder today. Research has shown that the brain scans of ADD and ADHD sufferers are different from the brain scans of healthy individuals. Individuals who have attention issues tend to have excessive amounts of brain waves in the delta and theta frequencies. Individuals who are hyperactive have excessive amounts of activity in the high beta frequency.

Neurofeedback focuses on the dysregulated brain wave activity. It targets the parts of the brain that are under- or over-activated to move them into a healthier range of functioning. With training, the brain becomes more regulated and balanced. This positively impacts the symptoms associated with ADD and ADHD that otherwise left untreated can damage relationships, self esteem, academic and career success.

Neurofeedback has been studied extensively for the use in treating ADD and ADHD symptoms and has received a level 5 efficacy rating – the highest available efficacy rating (efficacious and specific) as determined by International Society for Neurofeedback and Research (ISNR), and the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA).
